QUETTA: Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Yahya Khan Afridi said on Monday that the judiciary must move away from the traditional court-centric system and become citizen-centric because the real standard of justice is that every citizen of the country has access to easy, fast, effective justice, without discrimination.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the newly-constructed Public Facilitation Centre (PFC) in the Balochistan High Court premises here, he said that technology is the means of providing justice, while justice is the real goal and, therefore, the digital system would be effective only when it makes justice more fast, transparent and in line with human requirements.
He said the establishment of the Public Facilitation Centre is not just the inauguration of a building or facility, but is a practical expression of the fundamental commitment that justice should be within the reach of every citizen.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Federal Constitutional Court Judge, Supreme Court Judges, BHC Judges, BHC Registrar, Balochistan Bar Council members, BHC Bar office-bearers, lawyers and senior government officials.
Earlier, the Chief Justice inaugurated the Public Facilitation Centre and visited its various departments to review facilities provided to litigants and lawyers.
