GUJRAT: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Thursday ordered removal of the entire staff of Gujranwala Regional Passport Office (RPO) after he found the office shut before its official closure timings during his surprise visit.

Official sources say that as the minister suddenly reached the Gujranwala Regional Passport Office (RPO) no staffer was present there except one, before the official closure timings.

The sources said that the office was being cleaned when the minister reached there.

They say that on finding the entire staff absent from the office, and people being barred from entry to the premises, the minister got annoyed.

The lone official found present at the office during the minister’s visit, could not give any satisfactory answer to Mr Naqvi’s questions regarding absence of the other staffers.

Following the visit, Mr Naqvi ordered removal of entire staff of the Gujranwala RPO, the sources say, adding that the ministers’ orders were immediately implemented.
