ABBOTTABAD: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Highway Authority (PKHA) has issued the final warning to the Hazara Electric Supply Company (Hazeco) to relocate electrical poles and related infrastructure within the right-of-way of Murree Road, Dhamtor feeder, within seven days.
In a letter, the PKHA said the improvement and dualisation project for the road from Abbottabad to Thai Dhamtor was under way.
It, however, said power poles and other electrical installations belonging to Hazeco had been placed within the road’s right-of-way, creating obstacles to the construction and expansion work.
The PKHA said that the poles were installed within the right-of-way without obtaining the required permission or no-objection certificate from the authority.
It directed Hazeco to shift or remove all electricity poles and associated infrastructure from the required right-of-way at its own cost and responsibility.
The authority gave Hazeco seven days’ time to complete the work to ensure that the road development project proceeds without further obstruction.
It warned that if the orders weren’t followed, it could do the task itself without issuing any further notice to Hazeco.
“All expenses incurred during the process will subsequently be recovered from Hazeco,” it said.
The PKHA said that Hazeco would be responsible for any accident, injury, loss of life, damage to power poles or wires, or any other financial loss that could occur during the removal or relocation process.
