LAHORE: The Lahore Traffic Police has launched an initiative to ensure the safety of school-going children, with strict action ordered against overloading and the use of LPG cylinders in school transport, rickshaws and buses.

Lahore CTO Syed Abdul Raheem Shirazi has directed that the use of LPG cylinders in any vehicle, van or rickshaw transporting school children will not be allowed under any circumstances.

The CTO further directed that no rickshaw driver would be allowed to seat a child on the front seat. Similarly, hanging school bags or other items from the sides of rickshaws would be strictly prohibited.

RALLY: Hundreds of women on Saturday participated in the Multan Traffic Police helmet awareness rally in the city.

Multan CTO Nabeel Khokhar led the rally on Bosan Road under the chief minister’s vision for “Safe Punjab, Safe Roads” and women empowerment.

Traffic police distributed helmets among women bike riders.
