• Several others injured as three hideouts targeted in Shor Pard

QUETTA: Security forces killed 10 terrorists and injured many others in an intelligence-based operation in Shor Pard area of Khuzdar district on Saturday.
During the operation, security forces cordoned off and engaged multiple terrorist hideouts. According to security sources, the terrorists were operating in three separate groups, leading to an intense exchange of fire with the security forces.
“As a result of the operation, 10 terrorists were killed, while several others sustained injuries,” security sources said.
They said that following the engagement, security forces launched an extensive search and clearance operation across the surrounding area. Efforts were underway to track down the terrorists who managed to escape.
Security forces have reaffirmed their determination to continue targeted operations against terrorist elements and to eliminate the threat of terrorism from the region. They pledged that the search operation would continue until all remaining terrorists were located and brought to justice.
Tribute paid to forces
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to security forces for the successful operation in the mountainous region of Shor Parod, state-run APP reported.
“Security forces killed 10 terrorists in a successful operation. Successful operations against terrorists who are enemies of humanity, are a manifestation of the expertise of our security forces,” he said in a statement.
“The entire nation is with the security forces in the war against terrorism. We are determined to completely eradicate terrorism from the country,” he added.
The development came a day after Balochistan Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove survived an armed attack on his convoy while returning to Quetta after attending a flag-hoisting ceremony in Kalat.
Armed men hiding in the mountains targeted the convoy in the Kund Umrani area of Khad Kocha as it travelled along the Quetta-Karachi National Highway, injuring nine people, including seven police personnel deployed to protect the minister.
On Wednesday, the military’s media wing said eight terrorists were killed when explosive material detonated during the preparation of a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device in the Surab district of Balochistan.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, security forces launched a comprehensive clearance operation following the explosion on Monday morning, tracking down and killing another 10 terrorists affiliated with Fitna Al Hindustan.
The initial explosion of explosive material also resulted in civilian casualties and ISPR said that at least three civilians lost their lives in a secondary detonation of other explosives stored at the terrorists’ hideout.
“In total, 18 terrorists affiliated with Fitna al-Hindustan have been eliminated so far,” the ISPR said, adding that two soldiers were injured during an exchange of fire.
