ISLAMABAD: Police have implemented comprehensive security measures for the three-day Bari Imam Urs which began on Saturday in the capital.

As part of these arrangements, senior police officials visited various security checkpoints and interacted with deployed officers at various locations, police said.

The officers emphasised the importance of their duties in ensuring a safe and secure environment for all visitors attending the Urs. The officials deployed for security duties were asked to remain vigilant and closely monitor any suspicious individuals or potential criminal elements.

They were further asked to perform their duties diligently and maintain a courteous and accommodating attitude towards visitors. The Third Avenue checkpoint remains open to facilitate the smooth movement of attendees.

Meanwhile, the deputy commissioner, additional deputy commissioner, and assistant commissioner Secretariat visited Bari Imam and reviewed the arrangements for the Urs in detail. Parking, lighting, and other administrative matters for Bari Imam Urs were also reviewed.

The DC inspected the arrangements at the entry and exit routes for devotees coming to attend the Urs. Security and safety arrangements for Bari Imam Urs were also reviewed and inspected. DC Islamabad directed the implementation of foolproof security arrangements during the occasion.

Effective parking arrangements should be made during the occasion, the DC issued directions, adding that additional staff should be deployed during rush hours so that visitors do not face any problems.

All arrangements should be completed on time to provide a safe environment for visitors, DC Islamabad said.

Meanwhile, DIG Headquarters reviewed policing, administrative affairs, and the performance of various departments.

According to the details, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Headquarters Mohammad Jawad Tariq chaired a meeting with senior police officers to review various policing matters, administrative affairs, and ongoing initiatives across different departments of Islamabad Police.

During the meeting, the concerned officers briefed the DIG Headquarters on the overall performance of their respective departments, ongoing initiatives, progress, and other related matters. Various issues concerning the improvement of policing, effective management of administrative affairs, and timely completion of ongoing initiatives were also discussed.

DIG Headquarters reviewed the reports and performance presented by the officers and emphasised further streamlining and improving ongoing initiatives.

He directed all officers to ensure effective monitoring of the performance and progress of their respective departments and to discharge their assigned responsibilities professionally.
