RAWALPINDI: A man died after being bitten by a snake in his house, while a woman lost her life after a building canopy collapsed on her in the limits of Chaklala Police Station on Wednesday.

Muhammad Hussain, 34, a resident of Gorakhpur Adiala, was bitten by a snake at his house. After being informed about the incident, a Rescue 1122 team reached the spot and declared that the victim had already died due to the snakebite.

The rescue team shifted the body to the District Headquarters Hospital.

Police said a woman sustained fatal injuries after a building shade collapsed on her at Dhoke Raja Muhammad Khan within the jurisdiction of Chaklala Police Station. She was pronounced dead upon arrival at Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH).

Following the incident, a police team visited the scene and launched an investigation.

Meanwhile, police found the body of an unidentified boy on the bank of Nullah Leh in Gulistan Colony on Wednesday. Police believed the boy appeared to have been washed away by the flow of the nullah.

Police reached the spot after receiving information about an unclaimed body lying in Nullah Lai at Gulistan Colony Lane No. 1.

According to police, the deceased, whose identity had not yet been established, seemed to have been swept away by the water flow. The body was shifted to DHQ Hospital for postmortem.

In another incident, a man was shot dead by his rival over a money dispute in the Chaklala area.

Police said Umar Khan lodged a complaint stating that he and his sons, Suleman and Muhammad Ali alias Kalu, were returning home on foot when they reached Dhoke Munshi. There, the accused confronted Muhammad Ali and started arguing with him.
