Journalist killed in Balochistan's Jaffarabad district

DERA MURAD JAMALI: A local journalist was gunned down in Dera Allahyar town of Jaffarabad district on Tuesday.

Police said an armed man opened fire on the journalist, identified as Nazar Muhammad Kanrani, in the Ladies Bazaar area of Dera Allahyar.

The journalist died on the spot, while his brother was injured.

Police rushed to the scene and shifted the body and the injured man to the local DHQ.

The motive behind the killing was not immediately known. However, police arrested the alleged suspect, identified only as Hafiz, and launched an investigation.

The deceased was a resident of Sohbatpur district and had served as the vice president of the Awami Press Club Sohbatpur.
