LOWER DIR: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced a district-wide campaign aimed at increasing the registration of women voters in Lower Dir, where female voter participation remains below the desired level.

The decision was made at a meeting chaired by District Election Commissioner Jamshed Khan, attended by representatives of district administration, education department, social organisations and other stakeholders. The meeting reviewed low ratio of women voters in the district and stressed the need for coordinated efforts to bridge the gender gap in voter registration.

The officials decided to launch a special awareness and registration campaign from Aug 4 to Aug 27 across different parts of the district. Under the schedule, awareness activities will be held in village council Satandar in Balambat tehsil on Aug 4, Katiari in Adenzai tehsil on Aug 5, Mayar Jandol in Samar Bagh tehsil on Aug 12, Khairabad Kotigram on Aug 18, Government Degree College Lal Qila on Aug 20, Sultan Khel Adokai in Khall tehsil on Aug 25 and Tando Dag Tazagram on Aug 27.

During the campaign, women will be informed about the importance of voter registration, obtaining national identity cards and participating in the electoral process.
