BAHAWALPUR: Seven members of a family, including three women and two minors, were hospitalised due to food poisoning in the Chiti Maseat area on Mailsi Road, Kahror Pacca, Lodhran district, on Monday.
According to Rescue 1122 media coordinator, the affected family members started vomiting after taking stale food.
He said two Rescue 1122 ambulances were sent to the scene after an emergency call was received. Rescuers provided all family members first aid on the scene and then shifted them to Kahror Pacca THQ Hospital.
Those admitted to the hospital were identified as Allah Bakhsh (45), Shahzad (40), Ansaar Bibi (40), Mumtaz Mai (40), Sughran Bibi (35), Rubina Bibi (15) and Muhammad Akmal (10).
GAS EXPLOSION: The wall of a roadside hotel collapsed after a gas explosion in Lodhran city on Monday.
According to Rescue 1122, there was a gas leakage from the pipe of an LPG cylinder. When a hotel employee lit a match stick, the gas caught fire and caused a big explosion, which caused the collapse of a hotel wall.
All hotel employees escaped unhurt.
Rescue 1122 employees and members of the district administration rushed to the scene on receiving an emergency call.
CCD: The Crime Control Department (CCD) claims that the crime graph has registered a downward trend in Bahawalpur Division during the last one year.
According to a CCD press release issued here on Monday, there was a 100 per cent decline in dacoity, robbery with murder and kidnap for ransom cases. Besides, there was 50 and 62 per cent decline in the cases of car-lifting and motorcycle theft, respectively.
ARRESTED: Ahmedpur East Sub-Divisional Police Officer Chaudhry Javed Akhtar, at a press conference on Monday, claimed to have busted Sajjadi gang and arrested its three members.
The police claimed that the gang was involved in 38 cases of dacoity and burglary. Those arrested include ringleader Sajjad Hussain, Muhammad Hammad and Haseeb Tariq.
Police recovered looted valuables worth Rs1.8 million from their possession.
