Lebanese president says Israeli escalation undermines ceasefire

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has condemned the latest Israeli strikes on his country, saying the “killing and destruction constitutes a dangerous escalation”, AFP reports.

“It effectively targets all ongoing efforts to consolidate the ceasefire and end the war,” a statement from the presidency says, after Israeli attacks in the south and east killed at least 18 people.
