Studying hard and still blanking in exams?

This is regarding the cover article “Studying hard and still blanking in exams?” by Asif Ali (YW, April 25). The article focused on practical study habits that students can actually follow.

Many students blame themselves for poor results without realising that passively memorising for hours is often ineffective. The article explained learning methods in an easy way, especially for teenagers struggling with distractions and exam stress.

I believe teachers should teach students “how to” study instead of simply telling them to work harder.

I found the cover article “Studying hard and still blanking in exams?” by Asif Ali very relatable to the current situation faced by most youngsters in school.

In today’s digital age, distractions are a big problem during studies. Articles like this can genuinely help students rethink the way they learn.

Becoming official

This is with reference to the story “Becoming official” by Hoorain Imran (YW, May 2). No doubt, the writer’s humour made such an ordinary process feel memorable.

Almost everyone has at least one terrible “official” photograph in some of their documents, which makes this piece instantly connect with readers. I urge both the writer and the YW team to publish more humorous stories and articles like this one.

The story “Becoming official” by Hoorain Imran reminded me how small life moments often become the funniest memories later on. I enjoyed the light-hearted tone and honest writing style.

The weight of being the eldest sister

This is with reference to the story “The weight of being the eldest sister” by Yumna Arain (YW, May 2). The article highlighted a reality that many eldest daughters quietly experience but rarely express.

Society often praises eldest sisters for being responsible and mature while ignoring the emotional pressure behind that role. The writer truly expressed the feeling of losing parts of childhood while trying to meet expectations.

The piece was emotional and, in my opinion, many girls can see themselves in this story.
