NAWABSHAH, July 7: A judicial magistrate has issued arrest warrants for 14 men who had been detained by investigation police under section 497 of the PPC after a raid in Linepar area and later released without producing them before the court.

Judicial Magistrate-II Shakeel Shaikh issued the warrants for Irshad Memon, Mohammad Ishaque, Mohammad Paryal, Jalaluddin Ghumro, Murad Talpur, Abdul Jabbar, Mumtaz Ali, Khalid Arain, Muzammil Pathan, Mohammad Ali, Sami Abbasi, Mohammad Asghar, Imdad Ali and Ehteshamul Haq.

Police had arrested the 14 and 31 others after the raid on May 7 in Linepar area on a house owned by Seema, a stage dancer. Police then challaned the 31 who were subsequently released after they deposited Rs50,000 surety each but let go the 14 the very next day of their arrest.

Later, the home department transferred all police officers involved in the raid, including the taluka police officer, the SHO of the A-section, the SHO of taluka police station and the CIC in-charge.—Correspondent
