Three injured after speeding van veers off road

SARGODHA: Three people were injured when a high-speed van lost control and veered off the road into a drain in Sargodha.

Rescue 1122 rescued the passengers and provided them with immediate medical assistance.

The injured included Bilal (40) of Yusuf Shah, Bhakkar, Muhammad Hameed (40) of Bhakkar and Shaukat (20).

RAPE: Police have arrested an elderly man for allegedly raping a 10-year-old girl some two weeks after the incident took place within the vicinity of the Agriculture College Panchwan Rissala.

According to reports, ‘D’ went to purchase milk from the residence of the accused, who took her inside and raped her at gunpoint.

The victim’s mother in her complaint claimed that multiple witnesses saw the man with her daughter.

The suspect was reported to be an elderly person and he claimed to be a lawyer.

The Urban Area Police had arrested the suspect.

An additional district and sessions judge had sought a report from the police and directed them to present the entire record of the case on June 8.

VISIT: The Punjab local government secretary reviewed the arrangements in Sargodha and ordered the authorities to remain vigilant during Eidul Azha.

LG Secretary Shakeel Ahmed Mian reviewed the arrangements in Bhalwal tehsil and inspected various ongoing projects. He checked the cleanliness and security at the temporary cattle sale point and ordered the government officials to remain active.

On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry also accompanied him and they were informed that 10 temporary cattle sale points had been established across the district and free facilities were being provided to citizens and traders.
