RAWALPINDI: A woman who fell into a water-well while drawing water on Chakri Road on Wednesday was retrieved alive, while an 18-month old girl died after falling into the water drilling hole while playing in Rawat area on Tuesday.
The woman who fell into the water well was recovered alive by the Rescue 1122 staff and and shifted her to hospital.
Shah Faisal, resident of Bagha Sheikhan said in his statement recorded with the police that he had been serving as a driver in Bahria Town’s phase II for the last five years. He said he had one son and two daughters. He said that his youngest daughter Anmita was playing outside her house with other children when she walked into the neighboring house of Mohammad Nadeem.
He further said since there was drilling of water boring in progress in the neighboring house when his little daughter fell into the hole. On seeing this, the other children started screaming which caught the attention of his wife who rushed to the scene and informed him.
He said after the Rescue 1122 crew reached the scene, they recovered the little girl who was pronounced dead.
The girl’s father said that he does not want to initiate any police proceeding as it was an accidental death.
