LAHORE: Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Ali Shah has said that the students’ use of technology to develop creative projects on commercial grounds is highly commendable and impressive.
He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of the thesis exhibition organised by the PU’s Department of Graphic Design.
On this occasion, Faculty of Arts and Humanities Dean Prof Dr Mehboob Hussain, College of Art and Design Principal Prof Dr Samina Naseem, Department of Graphic Design Chairman Dr Ahmad Bilal, faculty members, and a large number of students were present.
The exhibition showcased 30 projects created by MFA students, featuring creative ideas for promoting local brands. Students also presented various concepts aimed at raising awareness about social issues.
Prof Shah said that the projects also focused on social responsibility and campaigns related to environmental changes. He added that some of the students’ graphic design projects had already been purchased by companies.
He further stated that the college was offering professional degree programmes, and nearly 100 percent of their students secure employment after graduation.
Dr Bilal said that the students had reached their final theses after a long and challenging journey, and the range of topics they worked on was truly comprehensive. He added that the exhibition not only represents the completion of a degree but also opens new avenues for the department. The department was looking forward to introducing specialised programmes in Game Design and Film & VFX in line with global industry trends and to further expand its curriculum, he added.
