KHYBER: Three persons lost their lives, and two others sustained injuries in a firing incident in Bara tehsil of the Khyber district on Wednesday.

Police said that the incident took place when two armed men opened fire at their opponents outside the main gate of the tehsil courts, killing three persons on the spot, and injuring two others, including a woman.

They said that one of the attackers was arrested, while his other accomplice managed to escape.

The police said the incident resulted from an old enmity, adding that the deceased were identified as Mehmood and Ilyas from the Zakhakhel tribe and Fazal Mehmud of the Shalobar tribe.

The injured were shifted to a hospital.
