TOBA TEK SINGH: Rajana police registered on Monday a case against nine persons, including six nominated and three unidentified suspects, for killing four aides of PML-N MPA PP-122 retired Col Sardar Ayub Gadhi and injuring him and two others in an attack on his outhouse on the other day.
His younger brother, former MPA Sardar Masood Khan Gadhi, alleged in his FIR registered 7-Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) and 302, 324, 148 and 149 of the PPC that he and his brother MPA Ayub were present at their outhouse at their home in Chak 184/GB when two brothers Wasif Gadhi and Rashid Gadhi of Chak 259/GB and their seven accomplices appeared on motorcycles and opened indiscriminate fire on all of the people sitting at the outhouse. As a result, seven persons, including MPA Ayub, were critically injured. One of them Zaigham died instantly while three others Haq Nawaz, Khaliqdad and Nadim succumbed to their injuries in hospital.
The complainant said that the suspects alleged that MPA Ayub was behind the murder of their father Nawaz Gadhi in an alleged ‘encounter’ with law enforcement personnel five months ago for, according to him, his involvement in robberies and drug dealing.

Faisalabad RPO Suhail Akhtar Sukhera visited Toba DHQ Hospital on the direction of the IGP along with Toba DPO Akhlaqullah Tarar on the night of the accident and inquired after health of the MPA and two other injured persons, Riaz and Shahbaz.
The RPO offered condolences on the death of four persons with their families. He told the reporters that there was no political rivalry behind the attack and the MPA’s opponents had killed four persons and injured the MPA and his two aides. He said police teams had been formed to arrest the attackers at the earliest.
On Monday, MPA Ayub was referred to the Lahore CMH where two bullets he had received in the attack were pulled out of his body through a surgery and his condition was stated to be stable.
Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Junaid Anwar Chaudhry who inquired after MPA Ayub’s health in Lahore CMH told Dawn by phone that Sardar Ayub’s condition was further improving.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has condemned the incident. She directed police to immediately arrest the assailants.
MPA Ayub is a lawyer and the district bar association observed a strike to condemn the attack on him.
