LAKKI MARWAT: Two people including a proclaimed offender were killed in the Kotka Nazar Shah Goraka Saeedkhel area within the limits of Ghaznikhel police station here on Saturday.

Police identified the deceased as Muhammad Shoaib, 26, and Javed Khan, 38, residents of Ghaznikhel and said that Shoaib was a proclaimed offender wanted by local police in various cases.

They said that the attackers fled the scene on their motorcycles while the bodies were transported to the District Headquarters Hospital Tajazai to complete medico-legal formalities.

Complainant Amir Nawaz, 54, told police in his preliminary report that he had called his son Shoaib to Goraka Saeedkhel area to surrender to the area police.

“When we reached near Kotka Nazar Shah, Osman Afzal and his brother Fawad Afzal, residents of Titterkhel, along with two unknown accomplices travelling on separate motorcycles came there and opened fire on them,” he claimed.

He told police that his son, along with a passerby later identified as Javed Khan, received critical injuries and died on the spot while he narrowly escaped the attack.

He said that the attackers also took away assault rifles and cash from the deceased before fleeing the place.

Police said that they launched an investigation into double murder after registering a case against killers under the relevant sections of law.
