TOBA TEK SINGH: Gojra Civil Judge Malik Shahid Ali Khokhar discharged on Sunday under-arrest former PML-N candidate from PP118 Uqbah Warraich in an attempted murder case and released him.

He was arrested from a hotel in Lahore on Saturday when he gave his CNIC for booking a room and his name appeared in police records as a proclaimed offender in the case pertaining to an attempt on life of bus driver Zeshan belonging to Mansehra in 2025.

He was handed over to the Gojra Saddar Police by the Lahore Police. However, his name does not appear in the FIR as an accused but was later added when the complainant mentioned him in a supplementary statement as accused.

The court was informed by the investigating officer of the Gojra Saddar Police about the fact that Uqbah Warraich was inducted in the FIR later during investigation. His counsel, Umar Farooq Bajwa, apprised the court that he had been wrongly included in the FIR, over which the court released him and discharged his name from the FIR.
