Body of drowned man recovered

RAWALPINDI: The body of a man who drowned in Nullah Leh while crossing it with his friend on Thursday was recovered by a rescue team on Friday.

Nauman Tufail, a resident of Muslim Town, reported to the police that he, along with his companion Shan, 20, went to Nullah Lai at Chungi No 4. He said while crossing the nullah, Shan slipped and drowned.

Shortly after the man went missing, the local police and Rescue 1122 were informed. The rescue team launched a search operation and finally succeeded in recovering the body on Friday. The body was later handed over to his family members, who refused to initiate any legal proceedings, terming it an accidental death.
