DADU, June 30: Members of the Dadu district council passed the budget of Rs1,939.211 million for the year 2006-07 with a majority vote after detailed deliberations here on Thursday.

Member Ali Sher Leghari, Najeebullah Narejo, Abid Lakhiar, Ms Imamzadi Shaikh, Ms Abida Solangi spoke in favour of the budget.

Opposing the budget, the ADP members Ghaffar Khan, Ali Bux, Ghulam Qadir, Shamsuddin Panhwar and Ghulam Mustafa said that Rs one million were not provided to ADP nazims in the budget and all the budget allocations were released to selected government-backed nazims.

They said that all ADP nazims and council members were neglected in the budget.

They also took out a rally against the council’s budget.
