QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti said on Monday that providing better facilities to lawyers could make the justice system more effective.

He made these remarks during a meeting held in Quetta with a joint delegation of members from the Pakistan Bar Council and Balochistan Bar Council, where issues faced by the legal community, as well as ongoing and proposed welfare initiatives, were discussed in detail.

During the meeting, officials briefed the participants on several initiatives, including medical coverage for lawyers, provision of subsidised chambers at the Municipal Plaza, pink scooters, shuttle carts, buses and vans for lawyers’ mobility, a digital library and progress on the Lawyers Welfare Housing Scheme.

CM Bugti said the welfare of lawyers was among the provincial government’s top priorities and that practical steps were being taken to resolve their issues. He added that improving facilities for lawyers would further strengthen the judicial system.
