KARACHI: As the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exams are set to begin from April 7, Commissioner Syed Hassan Naqvi has declared the premises of examination centres restricted areas for the general public except candidates bearing valid Admit Card as well as the staff on duty.

The Board of Secondary Education Karachi will conduct SSC annual examination from April 7 to May 2, with approximately 385,000 candidates at 530 examination centres across Karachi Division.

According to a notification, the commissioner placed the curbs under Section 144 of the criminal procedure code, prohibiting any type of gathering within a radius of 200 yards of the exams centres including operation of photocopiers.

The SHOs of the police stations concerned are authorised, either on their own initiative or upon a complaint of the superintendent of the examination centres, to register FIRs for any violation of Section 144 CrPC.
