ISLAMABAD: Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong on Thursday called on JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman at his residence, and discussed the regional security situation.

Maulana Fazl hosted lunch in honour of the Chinese delegation. Both sides exchanged views on the US-Israeli war against Iran, terming it a violation of international law and Tehran’s sovereignty.

The discussion also highlighted convergence of views between JUI-F and China regarding the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and regional peace, noting that such alignment would benefit the region.

Both sides stressed the need for peace and stability in the region and agreed to promote peaceful means to resolve conflicts. They warned that failure to achieve an immediate ceasefire could have serious economic consequences not only for the Middle East but also for Europe and the wider global economy.
