QUETTA: Three tribesmen were killed and five others injured in an armed clash between two tribes in Glisten tehsil of Qila Abdullah district, police said on Tuesday.

According to police, both groups, equipped with automatic weapons, took positions in the Segi area and opened fire on each other over a dispute related to control of tube-wells installed in the area.

The heavy exchange of fire continued for two days, resulting in three deaths and leaving five others injured. “Both groups have an old enmity over control of tube- wells,” police said.

The administration sent security personnel, who forced armed tribesmen from both sides to vacate their positions and shifted the bodies and injured to the district hospital.
