OKARA: The University of Okara (UO) and the National Vocational & Technical Training Commission (NV&TTC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on technical and vocational training initiatives aimed at empowering youth through market-oriented skills.
Under the agreement, the Skill Development Centre will serve as a training provider institute to impart training under the Prime Minister’s Youth Skill Development Programme.
The partnership seeks to enhance technical and vocational education and training (TVET) opportunities and equip young people with employable skills to improve their prospects for employment and self-employment.
According to the agreement, NV & TTC , the apex regulatory body responsible for setting national standards and policies in the technical and vocational training sector, will facilitate and oversee the implementation of the training programme.
The University of Okara through its SDC will deliver the training in accordance with NV & TTCs’ guidelines and standards.
Present at the occasion were University of Okara Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Sajjad Mubin, Director General of NV& TTC Ms Asfa Maqbool and theUOs’ External Linkages Director Dr Ekaterina Gavrishyk.
