Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in a call with Turkiye President Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed the escalating situation in the Middle East and shared Pakistan’s readiness to play a constructive role in promoting de-escalation and dialogue.
The prime minister reaffirmed “Pakistan’s full solidarity with the Gulf countries as well as our readiness to play a constructive role in promoting de-escalation and dialogue”, according to a post on X.
Both leaders agreed that “maximum restraint by all parties is imperative to prevent further escalation”.
They also “exchanged views” on recent developments in Afghanistan, with the prime minister “resolved to remain in close and frequent contact” in both countries’ shared pursuit of peace and stability in the region.
