China FM tells Israel counterpart Beijing opposes strikes on Iran: state media

China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi has told his Israeli counterpart that Beijing is opposed to military strikes on Iran in a phone call, AFP reports, citing Chinese state media.

“China opposes any military strikes launched by Israel and the United States against Iran,” Wang told Gideon Saar, according to the Xinhua news agency.

“Force cannot truly solve problems — instead, it will only bring new problems and severe after-effects.”
