The UAE’s defence ministry has clarified that the resulting injuries and “minor damages were not the result of direct hits on targets within the country’s territory”.
“It is well-known militarily that when air defences intercept hostile missiles and drones, this results in the scattering of shrapnel,” the ministry spokesperson said.
