LAKKI MARWAT: Three people were shot dead over an old enmity in Karak district on Monday, the police said.

The triple murder occurred in the Jandri Ahmadkhel area of Sabirabad union council in Banda Daud Shah town.

The police said armed suspects opened indiscriminate fire on a car resulting in the on-the-spot killing of three people, identified as Ahmad Jan, Danish Ahmad and Waqar Ahmad.

The bodies were transported to a hospital to complete medico-legal formalities,

The police registered a case against the suspected killers under relevant sections of law and initiated an investigation.

Meanwhile, the Karak chapter of All Government Employees’ Grand Alliance has threatened protest if the killers of an official were not arrested by Feb 11 (Wednesday).

Talking to reporters on Monday, the association’s district chapter president Malik Mushtaq Khattak condemned the murder of a paramedic and a Class-IV employee of the education department in the Ghundi Mir Khankhel area of the district last week.

Flanked by other leaders, Mr Khattak warned: “The paramedics have announced to observe a strike against the killing of their colleague and if the killers are not arrested by Wednesday, all employees will join the protest.”

On Friday, an armed suspect had shot dead a medical technician, Ammaduddin, near Khyber Chowk within the limits of Sabirabad police station. Police said the deceased and his pillion-rider, Kirmatullah, who was seriously injured in the attack and later also died, were going home on a motorcycle after performing their duty.
