GUJAR KHAN: A walking track has been opened, while a glamping resort is set to be inaugurated later this month in Kotli Sattian to promote tourism in the region.

This was stated by Bilal Yameen Satti, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) from the area. Talking to Dawn, he said Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, under the guidelines of Tourism Minister Marriyam Aurangzeb, has shown keen interest in developing the northern “Alps” of Punjab into world-class tourist resorts.

He added that an era of unprecedented tourism and hiking is set to begin in Kotli Sattian and the Panj Peer Rocks of Kahuta, linking them in a tourism triangle with Murree.

Mr Satti said the walking track from Milad Chowk to the Fire Watchtower passes through lush green mountains. “The fragrance in the air, heart-touching scenery and serenity of nature make the route quite captivating,” he said.

Deputy Commissioner Murree Aghar Zaheer Abbas Shirazi, while elaborating on the Cheora Glamping Resort Ring being executed by the Punjab Tourism Development Corporation in Kotli Sattian, said the project would be completed soon.

He added that the Department of Tourism, Archaeology and Museums, Punjab, is collaborating to establish modern tourist centres in Kotli Sattian and Murree, where all facilities will be available for tourists.

The deputy commissioner said the district administration, under the chief minister’s vision, has ushered in a new era of development and innovation across the district.

“Very soon, Murree and Kotli Sattian will emerge as world-class tourist destinations, providing excellent facilities to domestic and foreign tourists,” he added.

Residents of Kotli Sattian and Kahuta tehsil have demanded that the Punjab chief minister provide a dual-carriageway link to Kotli Sattian and Kahuta to complete the vision of a tourism highway connecting the Murree–Kahuta–Kotli Sattian triangle.
