If you love superheroes, bold colours and larger-than-life adventures, with a strong dose of teamwork, Miraculous World: Tokyo — Stellar Force is a sparkling treat that flies straight into your heart.

You may remember Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, the French CGI animated series that debuted in 2015 and quickly became a global hit.

It follows Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Adrien Agreste, who transform into Ladybug and Cat Noir, respectively, to protect Paris from supervillains. Since 2020, the universe has expanded through Miraculous World TV movies, turning the franchise into a long-running, ever-growing phenomenon.

This 48-minute special begins in Paris, where Ladybug is summoned by her friend Kagami from Japan. Kagami, who can also turn into superhero Ryuko, first appeared in the second season of Miraculous World. She brings Ladybug along to help protect Tokyo from a new and dangerous threat. There, Ladybug meets Miki and Kazuno, Kagami’s long-time friends and fellow members of Stellar Force, a Japanese superhero team.

As the story unfolds, Marinette learns more about Kagami’s past, deepening their friendship and adding emotional weight to the adventure. While Ladybug and Cat Noir are not together this time, viewers are introduced to more than a dozen new superheroes who more than fill the gap.

Kagami’s character helps children learn about Japanese values like discipline, honesty and doing the right thing. Through her friendship with Marinette, the movie shows how kids from different cultures can understand each other, learn new things and become better friends.

In Miraculous World: Tokyo — Stellar Force, Tokyo is depicted as a bright, exciting and friendly city full of energy and wonder, while Japanese culture is presented in a warm, simple way that teaches kids the importance of respect, teamwork and believing in one another. What truly shines is the film’s focus on teamwork, trust and cultural respect.

The Japanese heroes are talented, but imperfect, often out of sync, making mistakes, laughing at themselves and learning the hard way that trust is essential. It is here that Ladybug joins them and points out their shortcomings. The movie gently reminds viewers that misunderstandings and trust issues can harm friendships, and that honesty is key to strong relationships. Working as a team can solve even the toughest problems, while division makes success difficult. And it doesn’t end there. A slick end tease promises more ahead, with Stellar Force returning in 2027, pushing the Miraculous universe even further.
