KARACHI: Amid rising demand for vehicles, two assemblers gave a robust performance.
For example, Sazgar Engineering Works Ltd (SEWL) earned a profit of Rs8.4 billion in the IHFY26 compared to Rs6.6bn in the same period last year. Net sales surged to Rs68bn from Rs45bn.
Honda Atlas
The profit of Honda Atlas Cars Ltd (HACL) rose to Rs2.2bn in the nine months ending December 2025 from Rs1bn in the same period in 2024. Sales swelled to Rs85bn from Rs50.4bn in the above period.
International Steel
Revenue from contracts with customers of International Steels Ltd (ISL) increased by 38pc to Rs44bn in 1HFY26 from Rs32bn in the same period last year, while profit rose to Rs1.6bn from Rs534 million.
Lucky Core
The profit after tax of Lucky Core Industries (LCI) plunged 28pc year-on-year to Rs4.6bn in IHFY26, while net turnover also plunged to Rs56bn from Rs62bn.
LCI said despite easing inflation, exchange rate stability, and reductions in the policy rate, the company’s business operations continued to face challenges arising from cheaper imports, further aggravated by duty reductions, higher energy costs, and muted market demand.
