RAWALPINDI: As many as 16 Sahulat Bazaars will be established in Ramazan in Rawalpindi, Murree, Attock, Chakwal and Jhelum districts of Rawalpindi Division.

This was informed in a meeting regarding Sahulat Bazaar Punjab was held under the chairmanship of Chairman Sahulat Bazaar, Mohammad Afzal Khokhar, and MNA Tahira Aurangzeb.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Dr Hassan Waqar Cheema, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Dr HasaanTariq and other relevant officials.

Deputy Commissioners of Attock, Chakwal, Murree, and Jhelum also participated in the meeting via video link along with their teams.

The meeting took a detailed review of ongoing and upcoming projects of Sahulat Bazaar.

Sahulat Bazaar Chairman Mohammad Afzal Khokhar said Sahulat Bazaars are being established to provide relief to the public, where essential daily-use commodities are available at prices lower than those in the open market.

He further said that, for public convenience, ‘Sahulat Drive-Through’ has already been launched, enabling citizens to shop without getting out of their vehicles. In addition, the ‘Sahulat On The Go’ project has also been introduced.

The chairman directed that ‘Sahulat On The Go’ facilities should also be established in areas where people are currently doing business through pushcarts, in order to organize informal businesses and provide quality and affordable goods to the public at a single location.

MNA Tahira Aurangzeb stated that in areas where land has not been made available as yet, the district administration should make every effort to arrange land as soon as possible to complete the project.

She said that currently there are 16 locations in Rawalpindi Division where the process of land provision is underway, and all these cases are in process.

She further added that for public convenience, children’s play areas, food courts and washrooms have also been established at Sahulat Bazaars to provide shoppers with a complete and comfortable environment.

The meeting reaffirmed the commitment that the district administration will expedite work on Sahulat Bazaar projects and, under the public-friendly initiatives of the Government of Punjab, maximum facilities will be provided to citizens.
