DERA GHAZI KHAN: A full-scale emergency exercise was successfully carried out at the Farooq Ahmad Khan Leghari International Airport on Thursday.

The purpose of the exercise was to evaluate and strengthen the coordinated response of the Pakistan Airport Authority’s internal departments, airlines, and external emergency services.

The drill involved a simulated aircraft crash, followed by aircraft firefighting and rescue operations to evacuate passengers.

The exercise was jointly organised by the Pakistan Airport Authority in collaboration with the DHQ Hospital, Rescue 1122, Airport Security Force, Ghazi University, Civil Defence, and other government departments.

Neutral evaluators from aviation, emergency rescue, and the medical profession were also present to assess the performance of the exercise.

The drill was conducted under the command and supervision of Airport Manager Zakir Khan, Chief Fire and Rescue Officer Adeeb ur Rehman, and exercise coordinator Imran Ahmad.
