DERA MURAD JAMALI: Four police personnel, including an officer, were injured in a grenade attack on a police mobile in Dera Murad Jamali late on Sunday night.

Officials said unknown assailants riding a motorbike hurled a grenade at the police vehicle near the railway crossing outside the city police station. The grenade exploded close to the mobile while it was on night patrol.

As a result of the blast, four officers sustained injuries. Police and other law enforcement personnel rushed to the scene and shifted the injured to the district hospital.

Hospital sources said the condition of two of the injured officers was critical, and they would be shifted to Quetta for further treatment.

The injured were identified as police officer Qadir Bakhsh and constables Behram, Abdullah and Abdul Ghani. The police mobile was also damaged in the explosion.

Security forces have launched a search operation in the area to apprehend the attackers. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
