LAKKI MARWAT: A woman was killed in mysterious circumstances inside her house in Shamoni Khattak area of Lakki Marwat district on Tuesday night, the police said.

They identified the deceased as Aalia Bibi, 25, and said that her body was taken to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Serai Naurang town. Marwareeda, mother of the deceased, told the police that she was asleep inside her room while her daughter was sleeping in the courtyard.

She said that she heard gunshots, came out of the room and found her daughter critically injured. The complainant said her daughter died instantly.

She told the police that she heard the sound of a motorcycle going away after the firing.

The police said that they had registered a case against the unknown killer(s) under relevant sections of law in the Dadiwala police station and began an investigation.
