BADIN/HYDERABAD: Two women and a man were killed and several others injured in rain-related incidents in different areas of Badin and Hyderabad on Monday.

In Badin, a 40-year-old woman, Sani Meghwar, died after the wall of her house, located in Kathor Colony of Matli collapsed on her during a light spell of rain.

In Makhni Colony, a 30-year-old woman, Shehla Bhatti, was killed in a similar incident as the ceiling of her house crushed on her.

The bodies were transported to the Matli Taluka Hospital for legal formalities.

In Hyderabad, a labourer, Naik Mohammad, died and three other persons were injured when the roof of a shop caved in within the Timber Market area. The injured were identified as Nazim, Roshan and Farzand.

Badin and Mirpurkhas districts were also hit by a dust storm, light rain and massive power breakdown.

Strong winds blew away hoardings and solar panels in many areas and uprooted several high-grown trees. There were also reports of the rooftops of straw-made houses having been blown away in the rural areas of the districts.
