The power in your smile

This is regarding the article “The power in your smile” by Mirha Asif (YW, May 17). A smile, though a small act, leaves behind a lasting impression on others. It helps us build connections, as it makes us appear approachable and kind.

The article was a gentle reminder of how something so simple can brighten someone’s day. It encouraged readers to spread positivity through small, genuine gestures.

The fight for justice

This is with reference to the story “The fight for justice” by Yasir Khalil (YW, May 3). It takes great courage to stand up against all odds, no matter how difficult or challenging it may seem at first. But victory comes through determination and persistent efforts.

Just like in the story, the boy and his family kept fighting for their rights against the powerful people and, with strong will and perseverance, they finally achieved success.

Mother’s Day special

This is with reference to the “The Mother’s Day” special edition (YW, May 10th). No doubt every article and every story in the issue was just mind-blowing.

For instance, “My mother, my strength,” by Fatimah Khurram, “Ammi is everything to me” by Sophia Syed and “Mother’s Day wind chime” by The Crafter were all superb.

While the article “Develop your talent”, by Naad-e-Ali Khan, was inspirational and I appreciate the writer from the core of my heart. I often come across content that tells us to ‘do better’ or ‘be confident,’ but this article felt different. It didn’t just give advice — it showed the struggle behind growth, and that meant a lot to me.

II

The Mother’s Day issue felt warm, honest and full of love. I particularly enjoyed reading “Ammi is everything to me” by Sophia Syed, which was thoughtful and touching, while “My outdated mum” by Benazir Raz made me laugh in the sweetest way.

Moreover, the cover story “Mother material” by Yasmin Elahi was fantastic and “Develop your talent” by Naad-e-Ali was a comforting read. It encouraged me to keep going, even when things feel difficult.

All the content in the issue was amazing and kept me hooked to the couch until I finished reading it all.
