LAHORE: The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) on Tuesday announced it would take legal action against websites and social media pages using its name to circulate false information about exams and results.

The commission had received reports of misinformation being circulated on different websites and social media pages.

The PPSC also issued a public warning urging citizens to remain cautious of fraudulent websites and unauthenticated social media accounts.

According to the commission, certain fraudulent elements were operating websites and social media pages under PPSC’s name.

It said that these portals were misleading candidates about job vacancies, test schedules and fee payment details. Strict legal action would be taken against such individuals and platforms, it warned.

PPSC spokesperson Syed Kazim Muqaddas Kazmi said the public was advised to rely solely on the official PPSC website (www.ppsc.gop.pk) and the verified social media links provided on the site.

He said that PPSC had clearly stated that candidates must never share personal or financial information on any unverified platform. He said that any suspicious links or instances of fraud should be reported immediately to the relevant authorities or to PPSC.

He said all official recruitment announcements, advertisements, test schedules, roll number slips and results were issued exclusively through official channels. The commission urged the public to spread the message to help ensure a transparent, secure and fraud-free recruitment process.

PPSC also notified candidates regarding job applications, written tests, and interviews through official SMS sent from the commission’s verified ID. In addition, candidates received messages via their registered email addresses.

PPSC had also established a dedicated helpline, where applicants could call to verify any information or resolve queries.
