LAHORE: A woman allegedly murdered her husband and teenaged niece in the name of honour in Baghbanpura here on Monday.

According to initial reports, the woman slit the throats of both of them at her home for having an alleged affair.

The police found Shaukat Sheikh (50) and Shazia (16) brutally killed and reportedly arrested the woman who was identified as Zainab Bibi.

A police official said the woman had off and on exchanged hot words with her husband on the issue.

He said a team of police experts reached the site on being alerted about the double murder incident and investigated the matter.

The officials isolated the crime scene to help forensic experts to get fingerprints and other leads.

During inquiry, they believed that the woman alone can’t commit the heinous crime of killing the two persons.

They were questioning her to find her accomplice(s) in this regard, the police official said, and declared it apparently a murder in the name of honour.

They added that the bodies were shifted to the city morgue for postmortem examination.
