LAHORE: The second day of competitions in the inter-division phase of the Chief Minister Punjab Summer Games was held at various venues of the Nishtar Park Sports Complex on Saturday.

Events in hockey, volleyball, kabaddi, and badminton continued as part of the six-day sports gala.

In boys’ hockey, Gujranwala dominated Dera Ghazi Khan with a thumping 10-0 victory at the National Hockey Stadium. Rana Ahmed scored a hat trick, Ehtasham netted two goals, while Adil, Asim, Iftikhar, M. Ali, and Abdullah contributed one goal each. The match between Faisalabad and Rawalpindi ended in a 3-3 draw. In the girls’ hockey contests, Faisalabad defeated Rawalpindi 2-0, while DG Khan overpowered Gujranwala with a 4-0 win.

In kabaddi, Sargodha beat Dera Ghazi Khan by 46-31 points. Faisalabad outplayed Rawalpindi with a convincing 44-27 victory.

The volleyball competition saw Sahiwal overpower Lahore 2-0 with set scores of 25-21 and 25-18. Other results included Faisalabad defeating Dera Ghazi Khan 2-0 (25-15, 25-18), Gujranwala beating Multan 2-0 (25-13, 25-18), Bahawalpur overcoming Sargodha 2-0 (25-19, 25-19), Faisalabad winning against Rawalpindi 2-0 (25-23, 25-13), Sahiwal defeating Bahawalpur 2-0 (25-16, 25-6), and Gujranwala triumphing over Dera Ghazi Khan 2-0 (25-12, 25-17).

In badminton, Pool A of the Women’s Team Event saw Gujranwala beat Multan 3-0, Faisalabad defeat Dera Ghazi Khan 3-0, Faisalabad edge past Multan 2-1, and Rawalpindi win against DG Khan 3-0. In Pool B, Bahawalpur beat Sargodha 3-0 and Lahore 2-1, while Sahiwal overcame Sargodha 2-1. In the Men’s Team Event, Pool A, Multan beat Gujranwala 3-0, Faisalabad defeated DG Khan 3-0 and Multan 2-1, and Rawalpindi also won against DG Khan 3-0.
