LAHORE: Political leaders condemned Israel’s military attack on Iran and called it a violation of international laws and a threat to regional stability.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said Israeli aggression on Iran poses a serious threat to world peace. She regretted the martyrdom of Iranian officials in the Israeli attack and expressed sympathies with the people of Iran.

PPP’s Syed Hassan Murtaza said that the United Nations had become a tool of Netanyahu, who is pushing the entire region into the flames of war.

He said people in Iran are being forced to recite verses of jihad, and questioned why the United Nations does not see the martyrdom of innocent people in Iran and Gaza.

He said that the Iranian government must ensure the safe return of Pakistani pilgrims present in Iraq and that an emergency mechanism for ground routes should be established for the pilgrims’ return.

PPP Secretary General Nadeem Afzal Chan demanded that the government ensure the safe return of pilgrims, saying it had become a human rights issue after the Israeli attack on Iran.

He said that Israel is not only targeting Iran but has become a serious threat to the region. International laws are being violated and the UN should take notice of it.

He demanded that the UN take strict legal action against Israel and hold it accountable for killing people and challenging the peace of the region.

Also, Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman condemned Israel’s attack on Iran, calling it a blatant act of terrorism.

He expressed complete solidarity with the people and leadership of Iran, assuring them that the JI and the people of Pakistan stand firmly with them.

In a video message, he said Israel has become a rampaging elephant trampling international laws with impunity. He said the Zionist forces continue to commit some of the worst atrocities in human history in Gaza, and now, by attacking Iran, Israel has expanded its reign of terror, dragging the entire region into a dangerous game of fire and blood.
