TOBA TEK SINGH:At least 19 passengers, including 12 women, were critically injured when a Gojra-bound bus overturned due to speeding near Sadhar Bypass Chowk on Faisalabad-Jhang Road.

All the injured were shifted to Allied Hospital and DHQ Hospital. They were identified as Mafia (29), Ayesha (8), Asima (35), Farwa (7), Subhan (4), Shahzad (47), Umar (20), Kamran (18), Robina (65), Wasif (18), Nisha (19), Tayyaba (20), Shahida (45), Sadia (18), Rimsha (20), Sadia (18), Allah Rakhi (30), Almas Bibi (32) and Aliyah Bibi (25).

MURDER: A man was murdered by his brother in Satiana Chak 432-GB.

Complainant Abubakar, a police constable, claimed in his FIR registered with Satiana police that his father, Muhammad Hanif, was returning from mosque when his uncle Muhammad Shoaib opened fire on him over a property dispute. As a result, his father was critically wounded and shifted to Satiana Rural Health Centre where he succumbed to his injuries.

Meanwhile, a woman and her accomplices poisoned her husband to death at Rasoolpura locality of Tandlianwala in Faisalabad.

Hidayat Ali, the father of deceased Sabir Ali, alleged in the FIR registered with Tandlianwala City police that his son went to his estranged wife, Maryam Bibi, to reconcile with her. She administered him poison. As a result, his condition deteriorated and the complainant shifted him to hospital where he told him that his wife had given him poison. He later died in hospital. Police are conducting raids to arrest the woman and her accomplices.

Meanwhile, Faisalabad’s Rodala Road police resolved a blind murder case.

The police spokesperson said that some days back, the body of a man was found burnt on M-3 near Samiti Di Jhok. A case was registered at Rodala Road Police. During the investigation, the deceased was identified as Farrukh Shakeel, who was kidnapped from the area of Kahna Police Station, Lahore.

A case of his kidnapping was registered with Kahna Police Station. Rodala Road and Lahore police, in joint efforts, traced two kidnappers, Mubashir Hanif and Abdul Wahab, and arrested them. He added that abductors had murdered the deceased over an old enmity.

DROWNS: A girl drowned in Rakh Branch Canal on the Samundri Road near Govt MC High School at Faisalabad.

Rescue 1122 report said the deceased Meerab (7), the daughter of Maajid Ali of the locality of Nawab Town, was washing her feet on the canal bank when she slipped into the canal and drowned.

Her body was brought out by rescuers after hectic efforts of several hours.

RAPE: A man was arrested by Thikriwala police at Faisalabad for raping a 12-year-old boy at Chak 64-JB.

Police said the suspect had lured child to a deserted place where he raped him.

DAY CARE: The renovated and expanded Day Care Centre at the Government College Women University, Faisalabad, was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Dr Kanwal Amin.

The centre, established during the college period, has now been equipped with modern facilities. The new arrangements include a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable rooms and two activity rooms.

The capacity has been increased from 20 to 40 children, with separate facilities for pre-school and school-going children.

The previous open-air play area has now been shifted to an indoor building so that a comfortable environment could be created for children even in severe weather.
