China to open world’s highest bridge in 2025
China’s Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge, spanning 625 metres (2,051 feet) above the Beipan River in Guizhou Province, will become the world’s highest bridge upon completion in late 2025.
The province held the title for the world’s highest bridge twice.
Set to reduce travel time across the canyon from an hour to just one minute, the bridge will also feature a glass elevator, a stargazing bar, and the world’s highest bungee jump.
The Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge is expected to open on June 30, 2025.

Sunglasses were invented over 2,000 years ago
The first pair of sunglasses can be traced back over 2,000 years ago — crafted by the Inuit people. This eyewear protected hunters’ eyes and cut down on the intense glare from the snow during Arctic summers. The Inuit made their sunglasses by carving a narrow slot into a piece of whalebone or driftwood that allowed just enough space to look through without too much light getting in.

While there is nothing cooler than having some red colour lenses in your sunglasses; the truth is that different coloured lenses were initially developed by a man called James Ayscough, with the intention of resolving colour blindness.

Chinese judges wore sunglasses for emotional detachment
In the 12th century, Chinese judges would wear sunglasses while sitting in the courtroom, to emotionally detach themselves from the details of the case. The glasses were made of smoked quartz lens.
