Stay rooted, embrace your mother tongue
This is with reference to the cover story “Stay rooted, embrace your mother tongue” by Benazir Raz (YW, February 22). The article highlighted the importance of preserving our mother tongue. It beautifully conveys how language is not a tool for communication, but also a bridge to our heritage, culture and identity.
The personal experience shared about forgetting words from the mother tongue resonates deeply with many of us, reminding us of the subtle ways language fades over time.
The article also emphasised the cognitive and cultural benefits of maintaining one’s native language, dispelling the myth that learning multiple languages confuses children. It’s a reminder to take pride in our mother tongue and to consciously preserve it for future generations, as it holds not only words but emotions, traditions and history that are irreplaceable.

Never be overconfident
This is with reference to the story “Never be overconfident” by Zain Irfan, (YW, March 15). No matter how talented or intelligent we are, overconfidence can lead to failure.
The story also teaches us that pride and arrogance can bring us down and result in loss. In short, we should stay humble and avoid being overconfident.

An anger issue
This is regarding the story “An anger issue” by Muhammad Hussain Saeed (YW, March 1). The story was a great reminder that anger can make us act in ways we later regret.
It’s always better to pause when emotions are surging, so we can understand the situation better. The story also showed that even when we mess up, there’s always a chance to make things right.

Learning to heal
This is with reference to the story “Learning to heal” by Mubeena Raza (YW, February 22). The writer has brilliantly jotted down a strategy for overcoming situations in which we become attached to someone.
It is a natural process that we all encounter at different stages of life. It is crucial to understand the situation, as sometimes it may feel impossible to overcome, but in reality, it is not.
Remind yourself that you are the hero of your own story. Don’t lose your self-esteem; accept the situation and move on. Be ready for another adventure, because life is full of countless challenges and opportunities that you cannot skip.
