No MTV Movie & TV Awards ceremony for 2nd year

The MTV Movie & TV Awards have been cancelled for the second consecutive year. This follows the pause of other major events like the CMT Music Awards and Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards due to Paramount Global’s merger with Skydance Media.
The network is still deciding whether to cancel the show permanently or bring it back next year. The 2023 event aired pre-taped after host Drew Barrymore withdrew in solidarity with striking writers. The first MTV Movie Awards aired in 1992, and TV categories were added in 2017.
