DERA ISMAIL KHAN: In a horrifying case of alleged honour killing, a young girl and a boy were brutally murdered in the Adil Sipra area of Parova tehsil here on Saturday. Police acted swiftly and arrested the accused – a man and his son – along with the weapons used in the crime on Sunday.

An official said that the incident took place within the jurisdiction of Parova police station, where a man allegedly shot dead his sister and a young man, reportedly over suspicion of an illicit relationship. He said father of the accused also took part in the attack by striking both with an axe, leading to their deaths on the spot.

The official said a police team led by sub-divisional police officer, Parova, Noor Haider Khan managed to apprehend both the accused shortly after the incident, and recovered the murder weapons, a pistol and an axe, from their possession.

The double murder has shocked the local community and sparked renewed concerns over the continuing trend of honour-based violence in the region.
