HYDERABAD, May 1: Federal Minister for Water and Power Liaquat Ali Jatoi has inaugurated a 132KV grid station in Fareedabad town of the Dadu district.

Speaking on the occasion, he said the project had been completed in a short period of 11 months and the consumers would now be supplied electricity with proper voltage.

He said the government was determined to provide basic facilities to people of the district.

He said that in furtherance of the objective, many a scheme for provision of water supply, electricity, gas, roads, health and education had been launched in the district.

He said that water supply network was being constructed in Johi town at a cost of Rs30 million. He said the Dadu canal was being desilted and 250 villages had already been provided electricity whereas gas supply had also been given to 50 villages.

Mr Jatoi announced one month bonus for employees working on the Fareedabad grid station and assured people that work on the grid station of Sita road and New Jatoi would also be completed very soon.

GSC/NTDC CEO Haji Shabbir Ahmed said that the Fareedabad grid station had been completed at a cost of Rs110 million with 24km line and 89 towers.

He said that the grid station had an area of four acres.

Hesco CEO Maqbool Khwaja said that due to personal efforts of Mr Jatoi, a longstanding problem of the people about electric supply had been resolved.

He said that 30,000 consumers of the area would get power supply and tube-well connection would also be sanctioned.
